The hotel is situated mere steps away from iconic attractions. There is also a plethora of culinary delights. It effortlessly immerses visitors in Budapest’s dynamic urban landscape. The hotel’s strategic proximity to public transportation hubs ensures effortless navigation through Budapest’s enchanting maze of streets and avenues. This grants travelers the freedom to explore the city’s hidden treasures with ease. Hotel Rum Budapest is the epitome of a design hotel for modern urban explorers. It is perfectly situated in the cultural downtown hub of the city. Most of the starting points for my exploration of the city were within 15-20 minutes of the hotel.

Additionally, it provides a fusion of cultural immersion and modern luxury. Hotel Rum Budapest promises an unforgettable stay in the heart of Budapest’s cultural pulse.

Stylish and Comfortable Accommodations

Just like a rich, full-bodied dark rum, the premium rooms at Hotel Rum Budapest aren’t for the faint-hearted. These spacious and vibrant accommodations offer a feast for the senses. They boast king-sized beds and convertible double sofas for flexible lodging options. From these elevated vantage points, guests can soak in the sights of Budapest. They can gaze over the city on a relaxing day. My room was located on the second floor and looked out over the adjoining street. Whilst it would have been nice to have a room with a view, my time in the room was minimal.

Stepping foot into Hotel Rum Budapest, I was immediately captivated by its fusion of contemporary chic and traditional Hungarian charm. The interiors effortlessly blend modern sophistication with timeless elegance, creating a haven of comfort and tranquillity for weary travellers. Each meticulously curated room is a sanctuary of luxury. The rooms feature sumptuously soft beds and opulent furnishings. These elements invite guests to unwind in style.

As part of my package with BA Holidays, I booked the Black Rum room—a premium choice in the hotel’s collection. Being part of Mr & Mrs Smith’s collection was a delightful bonus. It meant a bottle of prosecco awaited me upon arrival. It added a touch of sparkle to my stay. The flight landed just before 2200. The only thing I wanted to do was to fall on the bed and get a good night’s sleep. However, with the temperature creeping up towards 20C, the room became rather stuffy. The air conditioning was fighting to get the temperature down. With the windows fully open, I drifted off to sleep. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was a challenge to jump to it in the morning.

The bathroom was spacious and well-stocked with a variety of toiletries for guests’ convenience. It was disappointing that these toiletries weren’t available for purchase. If they were, it was not made obvious. The shower offered impressive water pressure, delivering a refreshing experience. Additionally, the towels provided were of ample length, allowing for a comfortable wrap-around. However, it should be noted that they were somewhat narrow. They only covered half of the body, which may be a slight inconvenience for some guests. It’s worth noting that there were no bathrobes or facecloths available. This is a personal preference, but it’s worth mentioning as it was indicated in the website images. Overall, the bathroom offered a pleasant experience. There were minor drawbacks that could be improved upon for enhanced guest comfort.

The dedicated staff went above and beyond to ensure every need was met with grace and efficiency. Their genuine dedication to crafting unforgettable experiences elevated my stay to unparalleled heights.

Unfortunately, SALT, the Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant, was not open during my stay. This left me yearning for a taste of its renowned culinary delights. However, I did have the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at SOLID on my final morning. The wind and rain pounded the windows, creating a cosy ambience. This weather added a touch of romance to the experience. Despite the weather’s best efforts to distract, the delectable dishes served at SOLID proved to be a culinary delight. These dishes showcased Budapest’s rich gastronomic heritage with every bite.

SOLID, the rooftop brunch restaurant located on the 7th floor of Hotel Rum, is a true gem. It was featured in the Michelin Guide from 2023. Each dish is expertly crafted to tantalise the senses. They ignite the palate. This takes guests on a culinary journey like no other. Each moment spent at SOLID is special. From the first sip of coffee to the last bite of a perfectly poached egg, the experience celebrates Budapest’s vibrant culinary scene.
