Let’s get Moxy!

If you’re planning to attend an event at the Olympic Park, finding the right hotel is crucial. It ensures a comfortable and convenient stay. Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at the Moxy Hotel Stratford for one night. I attended an MLB event. I must say, it was a fantastic experience. From its prime location to its modern amenities, the Moxy Hotel Stratford has a lot to offer. Keep reading to discover why this hotel might be the perfect choice for your next visit to the Olympic Park. Additionally, don’t forget to leave a comment and share your own experiences.

Location, Location, Location

The Moxy Hotel Stratford is situated in an excellent location; especially for sports enthusiasts. Situated just a short walk from the Olympic Park, it provided the perfect base for attending the MLB game. The proximity to the Stratford International Station made it incredibly easy to get around London. Perfect if you do not want to be located in the City. FYI some rooms get some noise from the station, this didn’t bother us.

What Makes Moxy London Stratford a Boutique Hotel at Its Heart?

Is it the bright, open lobby layout paired with contemporary furniture? Or the ”Plug and Meet” communal areas providing modern, ergonomic seating? They also feature large writing walls and 56-inch televisions for presentations. Maybe it’s the fact that all 294 bedrooms are equipped with 42-inch televisions, en-suite bathrooms, and USB charging points. This hotel in East London has an awesome design. It has compact yet spacious cosy rooms, a laid-back lounge, and a fun sports theme. The theme is a nod to the 2012 London Olympics. Plus, nearby this Stratford hotel, you can visit Westfield Mall and shop ’til you drop. Or, are you a bit more adventurous? You can test your fear of heights at the ArcelorMittal Orbit nearby. Moxy is for play.

First Impressions and Check-In Experience

From the moment I stepped into the Moxy Hotel Stratford, I was impressed by its vibrant and modern atmosphere. The check-in process was seamless and quick, thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. The lobby area, with its chic decor and cozy seating, instantly set the tone for a relaxing stay. I loved the vibe of the Moxy hotel. It feels like the younger sibling to the W Hotels. I have a W Hotel experience coming up soon.

The check-in takes place at the Moxy Bar, which immediately felt like a vibrant social hub. As a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member, we were greeted with a complimentary cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Since it was a birthday trip, we happily chose the alcoholic option.

Room Comfort and Amenities

The room at the Moxy Hotel Stratford was stylishly designed with a contemporary flair. Despite its compact size, it was well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. I particularly appreciated the free Wi-Fi, and USB charging points conveniently placed around the room. The towels in the bathroom passed my test of being able to wrap around you -no skimpy towels here!

The room overlooked the railway station, which meant I heard one or two station announcements. The provided ear plugs were a handy amenity, although they were not needed. Once my head hit the pillow, I was fast asleep until morning. Additionally, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, and it was a struggle to get out of it in the morning.

Moxy Bar

The Moxy Bar is a standout feature of the hotel. It offers a perfect cappuccino at breakfast. There is also an all-day dining menu featuring nibbles and bar snacks. You can enjoy late-night cocktails to start (or end) your nights. It’s a vibrant social hub where you can plug in and get to work or unplug and socialise.

The bar’s lively atmosphere made it a great place to unwind with a drink after the game. It was also perfect to mingle with other guests. Although we didn’t dine at the hotel, the Moxy Bar offers a variety of food and drink options. Additionally, the hotel’s proximity to Westfield Stratford City means you have numerous dining options just a stone’s throw away. We did have a snack at Las Iguanas on our way to the game.

They get me!

As mentioned, the hotel is very funky and whimsical, and this vibe is perfectly captured in one of the lifts. The lift doors feature the mouth of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. It is accompanied by the playful caption, “We’re all mad here.” Stepping inside, you are greeted by an image of the Cheshire Cat himself. The image is accompanied by the thought-provoking caption, “Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.” This quirky and imaginative design adds a touch of enchantment to your stay. It makes each ride in the lift a delightful and memorable experience.

Ginger and Mint

For breakfast, we decided to explore the local area. We had a diverse group—one vegan, two vegetarians, and one who eats anything! After some online searching, we discovered Ginger and Mint, just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Since the sun was shining, we made our way there. Ginger and Mint is a chain of healthy eating cafes and juice bars in London. It is dedicated to promoting healthy living. It is also dedicated to building sustainable communities.

They currently have three locations in London, with more on the way! The menu had something for everyone. I opted for the Vitamin C Booster smoothie. It was a refreshing blend of ginger, orange, and carrot. I had it alongside poached egg and halloumi on toast. It was the perfect start to our day! So make sure you go check them out!

Final Thoughts

Overall, my stay at the Moxy Hotel Stratford was excellent. The prime location offers easy access to the Olympic Park. The comfortable rooms ensure a relaxing stay. Modern amenities make it an ideal choice for anyone attending events at the Olympic Park. Whether you’re in town for an MLB game, the Moxy Hotel Stratford offers a vibrant and convenient home base. It is also a great choice for simply exploring Stratford. I highly recommend it for your next visit to the area.
